If you need a freeze-proof system for winter hikes, use this
I bought this to wear under my coat on very cold hikes, so I could run the hydration bladder tube down my sleeve and prevent everything from freezing.The vest comes with a nice bladder with a fold-and-slide-type closure. After using it, I definitely prefer it to the kind with the screw-in wide-mouth cap. The end opening makes it much easier to prop open for thorough drying.Not only did this vest work perfectly for the purpose I bought it for, but the main compartment is big enough to carry a few other items (maybe a toilet kit, or an emergency blanket, or rain poncho), and the shoulder straps have pockets for my snacks, glasses, and headphone headband. The fit is quite adjustable, and didn’t shift around while in use.It was very handy to be able to just get a drink of water right from the end of my sleeve. The bladder tube was just the right length to go all the way down my coat sleeve.

Great for day hikes. Very lightweight.
Super light weight and extremely comfortable to wear. Has very handy pockets for keys, snacks and phone. You have to make sure the top of the water bladder is sealed after you fill it (I turn it upside down after I fill it to test for leaks). There are 3 cross straps across the front but you don’t need to snap them all. I use this for day hikes where I don’t need more than the 1.5 L water it holds. I add lots of ice as the pack is very thin/lightweight so there is no insulation. For longer hikes, I have a pack with a larger bladder. For the price, you can’t go wrong. Also, it folds up super small so you can tuck it anywhere.

Love this vest! No bounce when running, zipper area holds my S24 Ultra with case and mag wallet. Light weight and feels well made. I haven’t tried the hydration bladder yet as I just took a water bottle with me on a short 3 mile walk. Super comfortable! If you’re looking for a well made vest without breaking the bank, this is it!

Great form, style, functionality and value.
This is very light weight, love the pockets! 3 pockets in the front and the water bladder goes in a separate sleeve in the back. I have been using a 2 liter water bladder with no issues. Very stylish, one of my hiker buddies saw mine and immediately bought her own. Perfect placement of roomy pockets and holders for my bandanna and hydration tube. I had been shopping for a new vest and am not dissapointed.The only issue I have is that there a 3 buckles in the front and the top one is too high for me, I leave it unbuckled but then when the water bladder is full I can feel the weight being pulled back which would probably be alleviated by that top buckle, but it is uncomfortable – feel it rubbing on my clavicles.

Threads around the buckles starter fraying after one hike.Also if you’re a lady and got DDs like me….. Good luck! If I tried to jog, the vest kept riding up over the lady bits and choking me.Unpleasant experience.

I’m not really a runner, but hey, every few years I start the Couch 2 5k again, and man, when you need a sip of water, or a tissue, you really need it! Metal water bottles are a nice thing, but whilst jogging? Me thinks not. I just wanted something to carry my stuff, my phone, a tissue or two, plus some water would be nice, because jogging pants are unpredictable with their pockets and jackets flop your phone out! This thing is awesome. I can’t think of anything to improve it. I took the gator out, and then one chilly morning I was scolding myself. Why did I take it out?! It weighs an oz! It can keep your neck warm on that frosty morning, then it’s a headband on windy days, a pony tail holder on the hot ones, and maybe it’s a bandage some other day, or a sock if your shoes are rubbing wrong. The water tastes fine. My huge phone zips in and doesn’t bounce all over, and it even has a whistle. For the price, it can hang on my coat hook waiting for me to get to Week 4.
