4..5 stars, Lots of great features. Wish it was bigger
This review is for the Blue Quartz Hydration Backpack with 2L Water Bladder, 18LI really like this backpack and although I have a lot of dislikes, none of them are serious dislikes or deal breakers. It feels a little small to me for the listed 18L size. I have a 15L bag of the same brand that holds about the same amount. It’s really great as a lightweight water reservoir daypack, or to use without the reservoir as just a daypack.Likes* less than 1lb (0.93lb)* lightweight but sturdy, water resistant oxford nylon material* deep, darker teal color (has a slight shimmer)* elastic used for the inside water reservoir pocket, helmet netting, phone and water bottle pockets is thick and looks to be 2 pieces of thinner elastic stitched together.* elastic pocket on the front of each strap fits my Samsung A53 phone comfortably and securely. (see measurements below)* adjustable chest buckle system is sturdy and won’t come apart until you want it to.* double zipper pulls for the 2 main compartments* inside the main compartment is a smaller zippered compartment plus a key strap (also see dislike)* outside elastic cord is a good thickness and convenient to hold a sweatshirt etc* helmet net holder has secure clips that are easy to use* helmet net holder pocket is very large and could be used for other storage when not using the helmet net. It runs all the way up to the top of the smaller, secondary zipper compartment.WATER RESERVOIR* folding top, leak proof design* easy to seal/unseal* soft, flexible, BPA, PVC free* quick release hose system* 2 extra O rings* cover for the bite valve (although it’s not really secure)Dislikes* chest buckle system is difficult to adjust. The plastic clip gets hung up on the nylon loop.* main zipper stops at the top of the water bottle holders. I prefer when you can open them all the way* zippered compartment inside the main compartment is located in the middle of the bag instead of at the top. Also, I don’t like the cheap plastic clip for keys. I’ll be adding my own carabiner.* no hidden back zipper pocket* I wish the water bottle holders could hold a slightly larger bottle, but at least it holds a standard sizeNotable* reflective loops for the water hose* thin, comfortable back padding* whistle integrated into chest strap* netting used for helmet, phone and water bottle pockets has slight stretch to it* bottom of bag is tapered (not squared off/flat) and won’t stand upright on it’s ownMy approximate measurements* 5.5in wide at bottom and top. 5in wide at middle (see picture)* 17.5in long x 9.75in wide (measuring black padded backside)* main compartment measured from inside, seam to seam – 16.5in long x 9in wide* water reservoir pocket measured from inside – 13in long x 9in wide with 8in opening* main zipper key pocket measured from inside – 7in long x 8in wide with 7.75in opening. The pocket does not expand above the zipper.* secondary outside zip pocket measured from inside – 13in long x 8.5in wide and deeper at bottom than top* inside helmet pocket 13in long x 5.5in opening. (pocket gets wider towards the top.)* phone pockets 6.5in deep x 4in widest point x 3.25in elastic opening* water bottle pockets 7in deep x 4.5in at widest point and 3.5in elastic opening. Pocket narrows significantly towards the bottom 3 inches. Fits 2.75in diameter, 9in circumference bottle comfortably. It also fits my just shy of 3in diameter, 9.5in circumference bottle, but it’s more of a struggle to get it in.* empty water reservoir a little more than 6.75in x 11.75in (top folded down)

Hydration backpack great for bike or motorcycle
This hydration backpack is well designed with ample storage for a day trip or to carry your essentials that you don’t want to pack away in your luggage. It’s very adjustable for pretty much any body type. I am a large man (6’2″, 345#). Very often packs of this type do not comfortably fit my robust frame. This is not the case here. The shoulder straps are very widely adjustable, as is the chest strap. The shoulder straps are breathable and padded in the right spots to be comfortable. They don’t cut into my shoulders. There are several smaller pockets for your phone or other things on the outside of the pack. I like to carry a phone charging battery pack when I’m going to be on a long motorcycle trip. The internal storage is pretty spacious and can accommodate a pretty good selection of stuff. The main pocket contains a section for the water bladder and has an exit on either shoulder for the sipping hose. In addition, there’s a large main pocket that also has an attached strap with a clip for keys or small things that might otherwise be hard to find in the bottom of the pack. There is also a smaller internal zipper pocket to separate some smaller items from the contents of the main pocket. There is another zippered exterior pocket as well. While not as big as the main pocket, it’s roomy enough for additional gear.On the bottom of the pack there is a zippered pocket that runs the full size of the smaller exterior pocket. Because this opens at the bottom, I would be careful if storing anything in it. This does contain the “helmet sling”, designed to hold a bicycle helmet on the outside of the pack. The zipper must be open to use this feature. But, when not using the sling, it could provide extra storage. The final storage option is the attached elastic cord attached to the outside of the pack. It’s a cargo net of sorts that is adjustable for tension. The workmanship seems good on this pack. Seams are well done. The zippers operate smoothly. The clips, though plastic, work as designed. The materials are lightweight and are not on a par with higher end outdoor gear. The shell appears to be more like a type of rip-stop nylon than durable cordura fabric. I think this contributes to the lightness. I’m not sure how durable it will be in the long term.My overall opinion is that this is a good lightweight pack well suited to bicycle and motorcycle use. It’s best suited to light use. I think the overall value is good for use as described here.

Hydration pack is good for working in the yard without having to take multiple breaks for water
I know this is meant for hiking/biking/running, but I really got it for working in the yard. I have a decent size yard that is basically a big hill with the house on top. Every direction is a climb up and I get a good workout when I push my mower around. I end up having to stop a few times for water breaks and that just drags out the chore. I jumped on the chance to pick up this hydration pack. The pack is lightweight since all I ever have in it is the bladder. It has pockets on the shoulder straps that fit my phone so I can have that easily accessible. The bladder holds enough water to get me through while and keeps me drinking my water so wife doesn’t have to harp at me! It’s a high quality backpack besides that so it would be really good if I was into hiking or even when I am out on a paddleboard! I really like the setup. I definitely recommend this.
