Perfect summer hiking shoe on dry terrain
I absolutely love these for dry terrain hikes and for everyday wear at home. I wore them as my only shoes on vacation to Texas and then Utah. They are very light, comfortable, and even cute looking. I like the silver stripes on the sides. The bottom of the shoes makes it grippy on dry terrain, but they are slippery on wet rocks, and that stopped me from climbing up a waterfall in Utah which was disappointing, but you can’t expect a $40 pair of shoes to work for everything. They were great on trails with mixtures of sand, small and large rocks, uphill and downhill. I wore them on hikes up to 5600 sq ft altitude and almost 3 miles round trip. They are very comfortable, and the bottom allows you to feel the rocks and trail and remain very surefooted. The toe box is wide and allowed my toes to spread out for great stability. I wear 8.5 in regular sneakers, and I got size 8 in these shoes, and that worked for hiking because I wanted a snug fit. I wore regular athletic socks, nothing padded. A couple of trails that I did include Ensign Peak in Salt Lake City, Dooly Knob Spur Trail on Antelope Island, and The Living Trail in Salt Lake City. I also like wearing these at home on the treadmill and to take care of the backyard chickens. I wear these more than I wear my xero shoes just because they are easier to clean if I step in chicken poop! I’ve washed these in the washer twice, and they come out looking great.

The best gym shoes!
SO comfy! I bought these specifically for the gym so I could lift “barefoot” without removing my shoes (against gym policy), but also do cardio comfortably on the treadmill or bike. I’ve used Vans and Converse for lifting in the past, but they’re so thick that they’re uncomfortable for cardio. These shoes are lightweight, flexible, and breathable. The toe box is nice and wide to allow natural foot movement. They’re so comfortable that I’ve even started wearing them to work in addition to the gym. They look very normal compared to some other barefoot shoes, which I appreciate. My only complaint is that they rub against my ankles a little bit, but this can be alleviated with the right socks. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

Very strong chemical odor
Really nice quality, very comfortable, roomy, snug heel, and attractive design, BUT the chemical smell is so strong that it made my throat and nose burn and my head ache. Sadly, I may need to return them if they don’t off-gas soon. The package had already been open as well, crudely taped back up, with a sticker that said “dirty” and the soles did indeed look somewhat dirty. Someone had previously returned this pair. I’m okay with that — soles do get dirty. Unfortunately, this does not make me hopeful for the off-gassing because the shoes have not been sealed up for a long time — they’ve been open to the airflow for a while.

Get these now. You do not know what your feet have been missing.
These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I was skeptical they would be comfortable for me because sometimes flat-feeling shoes without arch support make my feet hurt after wearing them. I think the difference is you need arch support if you can’t flex your foot while walking in the shoes. But with these “barefoot” shoes, the flexible sole makes all the difference. Your foot can move like it’s meant to. Putting these on at first, the heel area did feel a little strangely low, even though I never wear heeled shoes. But they are so comfy and I got used to the different feeling and quickly loved them. Walking up a hill for the first time in them felt weird and I realized it was because my body was used to walking more flat footed and I could now start pressing into the ball of my foot and the shoe moved with my foot. It felt amazing! I had a sore spot (maybe plantar fascitis but I don’t know) on the bottom of my foot for years that has started feeling a lot better in these after a week or two. The tops of my feet and ankles feel stronger too. I absolutely love these. I got the gray gum and I think they look very sporty and look good with jeans or anything. I have not gone hiking on a rocky trail in these, and while I do think they would be fine for that, I think that is one thing that might be tough on your feet if they are not prepared for it. Maybe bring a backup pair of shoes along for a hike the first time in case rocks hurt your feet. The soles aren’t thin or anything, but you can definitely feel the ground more. I was also pleasantly surprised by how great these are in the winter. With wool socks, my feet did not get cold or wet feeling even after walking in snow for a good deal of time. I think quality warm socks help because the shoes did feel a little moist when I felt them after taking them off, but I think the fabric must be very water repellent or non absorbent. I would have expected my feet to feel much wetter in other running shoes/sneakers I have had. Also, I like these immensely better than other similar “barefoot” shoes I tried and returned of similar brands. Others were cheaper, others had cuter color choices, but these are so superior in terms of comfort and quality in my opinion. And really, $40 or $50 is not that bad for a great quality pair of shoes. I did not find these slippery as other reviews may have said. The soles have decent treads. I wish they had other color choices but I really like the gray gum and may get the lavender too! Please do yourself a favor and get these shoes. More support is not what your feet need in order to feel better. They need to get stronger. It may take time but keeping your feet immobilized on giant cushions is not the answer.

Good shoes but the shoe model runs large
The sizing on this particular model of the shoes runs large. When I originally ordered my usual size, I did not look at the specific sizing for this model – I had to return it and reordered a smaller size. I like the shoes as they are comfortable, once I got the smaller size.

Great shoes for barefoot
We have several pairs of whitin shoes and they have all held up for months and months. I have these in gray, this pair is for my 10 year old who is in between youth and men’s sizes. They don’t have any arch support which is what you want in barefoot shoes. They are completely flat when you take out in the insole. I can feel rocks and pavement. We wear them daily. This particular style runs bigger than the one like converse. But I still think they are pretty true to size.

Absolutely love these shoes. I usually wear 11-12 woman’s but because I have the room for my toes 10.5 fits perfectly. I would have given them five stars, but I’m not crazy about how dark the sole colour is. I would love if they made white with white sole. I found with Other barefoot shoes there is not enough padding on thebottom and it is very excruciating for the balls of my feet. These provide the comfort and support I was looking for. I will definitely be buying another pair. Super cute!
